As per the latest data, the American Marine Corps Aviation is being heavily impacted due to a series of divesting. However, what is noteworthy is that these are self-inflicted trends. In other words, neither the recent mandatory reduction of the workforce nor the lack of funding cause these circumstances.
Newly obtained aircraft are being discarded. Unfortunately, if we follow the trends, the latest aircraft may face a similar fate.

The Marine Corps sells off 24 brand-new UH-1Y Venom utility helicopters, 30 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters, and 44 cutting-edge MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor planes. These are wasteful and unwise divestments, as per industry experts. Nevertheless, the impact on the marine force is going to be tremendous.
Similar worries are raised by the 54 F-35B planes that will be sold off. Less attack aircraft will be available to support Marines on the ground due to the loss of these jets. Even more significant than the 54 divested, though, are possible losses.

The Marine Corps plans to sell 200 brand-new, cutting-edge aircraft to pay for experimental features that will be ready for operational use for several more years.
The Marine Corps has also divested all Marine wing support organizations in the active force. These groups provided the combat and combat service support required for airfield operations.
So, there is a loss of centralized authority critical and talented workforce besides the aircrafts.
