The latest news about Amazon is about plans by the tech giant to invest more in safety technology. The enterprise plans to spend around $200 on safety in its transportation network in 2023.
Vehicles that are best-in-class regarding safety and sustainability will be offered to drivers.

“We’ve equipped our middle mile trucking network, which is responsible for shipping packages to and from our operations sites before they’re dispatched for last-mile delivery to customers, with leading safety technology, including automatic emergency braking, front-collision warning, stability control, lane-departure warning, side-object detection, adaptive cruise control, and speed limiters. We’re also investing in expanding in-vehicle camera safety technology across our last-mile delivery network, proven to help reduce unsafe behavior in real-time by reducing driver-controllable safety incidents,” explains Amazon.

The objectives listed in the National Roadway Safety Strategy of the US Department of Transportation are already being pursued by Amazon (NRSS). With more investment and improved access to innovative technology, Amazon will strengthen road safety for its employees.
“As we look to the future, we continue to pilot cutting-edge technologies in the transportation space. For example, we’re currently piloting strobing brake light technology in some of our trailers to provide greater visibility during braking to others on the road. This technology can potentially reduce rear-end collisions by as much as 30 percent,” adds Amazon.
