Virtualization Paves the Way for Edge Computing’s Expansion, Enhancing Localized Data Processing

The network architecture comprises a core (trunk) and an edge (branch), representing the initiation and culmination points of network interactions. Enter virtualization, a key player in the realm of edge computing. Virtualization strategically places resources at the edge, assigning virtual resources to individual endpoints or branches. This allocation ensures that endpoints possess their own localized instance or share of resources, eliminating the need for constant back-and-forth resource requests to the core. In essence, virtualization significantly shortens the distance that a resource request must travel within the infrastructure.
