E.U. and U.S. Announces Agreement Regarding Technological Advancement in Agritech

Share:

In January last week, the E.U. and U.S. announced a mutual agreement to accelerate and improve the use of A.I. to enhance agriculture. The technology will also be leveraged in other sectors, including Healthcare, the electric grid, etc.

It is the first comprehensive A.I. deal between the U.S. and E.U. The previous attempts in this regard were restricted or were exclusively for specific sections or aspects.

“The magic here is in building joint models (while) leaving data where it is,” the senior administration official said. The U.S. data stays in the U.S., and European data stays there. Still, we can build a model that talks to the European and the U.S. data because the more data and the more diverse data, the better the model,” says a senior administration official.

Only the U.S. and the E.U. will be part of the agreement. Other countries can also participate in the process, but there could be a delay.

Due to the effort, governments will have better access to more accurate and data-rich A.I. models, enabling more effective emergency responses.

Under the new cooperation, all that data would be utilized in a single A.I. model to provide emergency managers with better outcomes.
